When we divide any decimal number by , the decimal point shifts to the left by one place.
For eg:- Let's divide by

When we divide any decimal number by , the decimal point shifts to the left by two place as is to the power .
For eg:- Let's divide by

When we divide any decimal number by , the decimal point shifts to the left by places as is to the power .
For eg:- Let's divide by
So, we have  ....... (decimal shifts to left by three places)

### Divide a decimal number by a whole number

Dividing a decimal number by a whole number is same as dividing any two whole numbers.
The only difference is decimal point.
So, put the decimal point right above the other one and follow the same steps of dividing two whole numbers.
Note:- Get the remainder as zero by adding to the right.
