Person of Verbs

The verb has three persons. These refer to whether the person(s) referred to are speaking, being spoken to or being spoken about.
According, the verb is in First Person, Second Person or Third Person.

First Person Verbs

When the subject is in the first person, the verb must be conjugated according to the first person.
Eg: I speak.
      We listen.

When the subject is in second person, the verb must also be in second person.
Eg: You write.

Number of Verbs

Number refers to whether the subject is singular (being counted as one) or plural (being counted as more than one).
The verb must agree in number with the subject of the sentence.

If the subject of the verb is singular, the verb is singular.
Eg: He speaks.
      She listens.

If the subject of the verb is plural, the verb must be plural.
