Hammering is the process to demagnetize the magnets.

If we hit a magnet by the hammer continuously for some time. Then. magnet loses its magnetic property.

Because, when we do the hammering, it will destroy the alignment of the north and south pole of the magnet.

And due to the disturbance in the alignment of the north and south pole of the magnet, it loses its magnetic property.

Now, another process of doing the demagnetization of the magnet is heating the magnets.

A magnet loses its magnetism if it is heated above a certain temperature.

And that point of a certain temperature is called curie point of that material.

The Curie point of the different metal is different. like,

And when we do the heating of magnet, the electrons are no longer as well lined up.

Due to which the magnetism of the whole magnet decreases.

The next process to demagnetize a magnet is applying AC in the electromagnetic field.

Suppose we have a magnetized bar, which is to be demagnetized, inside an insulated long copper wire in the east-west direction.

And the copper wire is connected to the AC regulator.

Now, we switch ON the circuit, then the current is slowly reduced to zero.

The magnet loses its magnetism as alternating current changes direction continuously.

This change in direction of current disturbs the alignment of molecular magnets, resulting in demagnetization.

Hence, these are the few methods to demagnetize the magnets.
