Electrical Symbols - Advanced

The symbols are used to understand the behavior of electrical components on paper.

We have seen that before the construction of bridge engineers make a design on paper.

Because with the help of the image on paper he can analyze the different types of parameters like load, the strength of the bridge etc.

Similarly, for construction or analysis of any electrical instrument, we assigned a symbol.

So that we can analyze the working and behaviour of the electrical instrument on paper.

Similarly, the symbol of electrical components is used in the electrical circuit.

Let's understand the electrical symbols.

When we make an electrical circuit, then, we use symbols of different electrical components.

For example, the bulbs are used to produce light from electricity.

And if we want to show it in the electrical circuit, then, we use this symbol for a bulb.

Now, a switch is an electrical component, which can make and break the electrical circuit.

When the switch is closed, means, the circuit is complete. Then, we use this symbol.

And when the switch is open, means, the circuit is not complete. Then, we use this symbol.

The wire is represented by the straight line.

And the resistance of a wire is because we consider it as an ideal wire.

A resistor is passive two-terminal electrical devices that provides resistance in the circuit.

And we use this symbol in the circuit for the resistor.

An ammeter is a measuring instrument used to measure the current in the circuit.

And we use this symbol in the circuit for the ammeter.

The batter is represented by the above symbol.

The positive and negative terminal of the battery is represented by the vertical line.

A voltmeter is the measuring instruments used for potential measurement in volts in the circuit.

And we use this symbol for voltmeter in the circuit.

A diode is an electronic component that conducts the electricity in only one direction and blocks in another direction.

And we use this symbol for the diode in the circuit.

A buzzer or beeper is a device which makes a buzzing or beeping noise.

And we use this symbol in the circuit for the buzzer.
