Introduction to light emitting diode

LEDs are a low power consuming light emitting device.

LEDs consume very low power for its operation.and because of its fast switching action it is used for dec

And because of its fast switching action, it is used for decoration purposes.

Now we will study Introduction to light emitting diode.

So, let's study the working principle of LEDs

The LED stands for Light Emitting Diode and it is basically a small light emitting device.

A light-emitting diode is a p-n junction diode light source. It emits light when connected with the battery.

A light-emitting diode is a p-n junction diode light source. It emits light when connected with the battery. And the circuit is shown diagram is shown as,

The LED is operated under the forward bias.

The positive terminal of the battery is connected with the of the diode and negative terminal with then it is called forward bias.

And because of the forward bias, the suitable potential drop appears across the LED.

When a suitable voltage is applied then holes from p-side and electron from n side are recombined.

And when they recombine the energy is released and this energy is in the form of a photon.

If the range of emitted photon is in between the visible range then we can able to see the different colors of light.

And the advantage of using LEDs in lightening purpose is because of the long life durability and low power consumption.

We have studied the principle and working of the LED.
