Guru Nanak Dev ji was the founder of Sikhism and the first Guru of the Sikhs. He believed in the values of equality, fraternity, goodness, and virtue. The basis of Sikhism lies in the teachings of Guru Nanak and his successors. He introduced the system of Sangat which means "association" and Pangat means community Kitchen also known as Guru Ka Langar which is meant for providing food to all devotees, pilgrims and visitors. These were introduced to remove disparity among people and promote equality and fraternity.
