Question

Light has several properties like reflection, refraction etc. When light travels from an optically denser medium to a rarer medium. What happens to the light at the interface?

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Whenever light goes from optically denser medium to rarer, some it gets 'reflected' back through the first medium (at the same angle as the incident wave) and some of it is refracted (bend) through the second medium. Since light is travelling from denser to rarer medium, the bending will be away from the normal.
