0.1 M - 0.2 M NaCl is the solution of intermediate ionic strength. The solution can be used to separate the DNA and histone proteins from the chromatin network. 0.6 M NaCl removes H1 and higher concentration like 1 M NaCl helps in the removal of all the histone proteins and DNA.
