$\frac{x - 4}{2} - \frac{x - 3}{4} = \frac{1}{6}$

$\frac{x - 4}{2} - \frac{x - 3}{4} = \frac{1}{6}$
$\frac{2 (x - 4) - (x - 3)}{4} = \frac{1}{6}$
$\frac{2 x - 8 - x + 3}{4} = \frac{1}{6}$
$x - 5 = \frac{4}{6}$
$x = 5 + \frac{2}{3}$
$x = \frac{15 + 2}{3} = \frac{17}{3}$
