We have a moral responsibility to take good care of earth's biodiversity and pass it on in good order to next generation.
(a) Define biodiversity.
(b) Write causes for biodiversity losses.
(c) Name two types of biodiversity conversation.
Biodiversity is the genetic variation of the life forms found on the earth. It is of two types- 1) Genetic biodiversity and 2) Ecological biodiversity.
Causes of biodiversity loss:
- Overpopulation
- Pollution
- Deforestation
- Invasive species
- Habitat loss and fragmentation
There are two types of biodiversity conservation methods as: in situ and ex situ conservation. The in situ conservation includes the national parks and sanctuaries. The ex-situ conservation includes herbarium and botanical gardens.
