Question

A pilot of mass m can bear a maximum apparent weight 7 times of mg. The aeroplane is moving in a vertical circle. If the velocity of aeroplane is 210 m/s while driving up from the lowest point of vertical circle, the minimum radius of vertical circle should be:
  1. 375 m
  2. 420 m
  3. 750 m
  4. 840 m

A
420 m
B
375 m
C
750 m
D
840 m
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given maximum apparent weight is 7mg
Apparent weight at the lowest point is (mg+mv2r)
So, 7mg=mg+mv2r
or, 6mg=mv2r
or, r=v26g
or, r=21026g
or, r=750 m
So , minimum radius of circle is 750 m
