Question

Reduce to a single fraction:
$$2/3 - 3/5 + 3 - 1/5$$

Solution
Verified by Toppr

$$2/3 - 3/5 + 3 - 1/5$$
Here the LCM of $$3$$ and $$5$$ is $$15$$
$$= \left (2 \times 5 \right )/ \left (3 \times 5 \right ) - \left (3 \times 3 \right )/ \left (5 \times 3 \right ) + \left (3 \times 15 \right )/ 15 - \left (1 \times 3 \right )/ \left (5 \times 3 \right )$$
By further calculation
$$= 10/15 - 9/15 + 45/15 - 3/15$$
So we get
= $$\left (10 - 9 + 45 - 3 \right )/15$$
$$= 43/15$$
$$= 2 \dfrac{13}{15}$$
