Ram had 14 mangoes and Raj had only 4. Ram gave some mangoes to Raj and then Raj had exactly half the number of mangoes as Raj left with. Find the number of mangoes that Ram gave to Raj.
Let the number of mangoes Ram gave to Raj be x.
Now, Ram has 14−x mangoes and Raj has 4+x mangoes.
According to the question,
4+x=14−x2
⇒8+2x=14−x
⇒3x=6
⇒x=2
Thus Ram gave 2 mangoes to Raj.
