Question

A bag contains $$5$$ white, $$7$$ red and $$3$$ black balls. If a ball is chosen at random, then find the probability that it is not red.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Total no. of balls $$=5+7+3$$
$$\implies 15$$ balls

Probability that the chosen ball is red is $$=$$ No. of red balls$$/$$Total no. of balls
$$\implies \dfrac{7}{15}$$

Hence, the probability that it is not red is $$1-\dfrac{7}{15}=\dfrac{8}{15}$$
