Question

A ball whose kinetic energy is E, is thrown at an angle of 45o with the horizontal, its kinetic energy at the highest point of its flight will be?
  1. E
  2. E2
  3. E2
  4. Zero

A
E
B
Zero
C
E2
D
E2
Solution
Verified by Toppr

The kinetic energy of the ball at the highest point is as follows:
the expression for kinetic energy is KE=12mv2.

So, the kinetic energy at the highest point is,

KEh=12m(vcos(45))2

KEh=12m(v2)(cos(45))2

KEh=E(cos(45))2

KEh=E2

so, at the highest point the kinetic energy is E2.
