Question

A bucket is in the form of a frustum of a cone, its depth is 15 cm and the diameter of top and bottom are 56 cm and 42 cm respectively. Find how many litres of water can the bucket hold. [Take π=22/7]

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Heighth=15cm
Top diameter2r1=56cm radius r1=562=28cm
Bottom diameter2r2=42cm radius r2=422=21cm
Volume of the cone=13πh{(r1)2+(r2)2+r1r2}
=12×227×15×{784+441+588}
=28490cm3
Since 1litre=1000cm3
Capacity of the bucket it can hold=284901000litres=2.849litres
