Question

A bullock-cart travels $$24$$km in $$3$$ hours and a train travels $$120$$ km in $$2$$ hours. Find the ratio of their speeds.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

We know that,
$$Speed = \dfrac{distance}{time}$$.

Given,

Speed of bullock car $$=\dfrac{24}{3} km/hr$$.

$$=8$$ $$km/hr$$

Speed of train car $$=\dfrac{120}{2} km/hr$$.

$$=60$$ $$ km/hr$$

Ratio of speed of bullock cart to train $$ = 8 : 60$$
$$ = 2 : 15$$
