C0=ε0Ad and C=εAd=Kε0Ad
So, q0=C0V=εAdV
and q=CV=Kε0AdV
qq0=K
Given q0=40μC
On inserting a dielectric, an additional charge of 80μC also flows through the battery.
So, total charge =q0+80=40+80=120μC
K=qq0=12040=3.
