let $C.P.$ of coal = $x$ per quintal

Therefore, S.P. $=x+20\%x$

$\Rightarrow 25=x+\frac{20x}{100}$

$\Rightarrow 25=x(1+\frac{2}{10})$

$\Rightarrow 25=\frac{6}{5}x$

$\Rightarrow x=20.833$

Therefore, $240$ quintals of firewood cost $=240\times 20.833=$Rs. $5000$.
