A conical tent is to accommodate 77 persons. Each person must have 16m3 of air to breathe. Given the radius of the tent as 7m find the height of the tent and also its curved surface area.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Volume of air required for a person to breathe=16m3
Volume of air required for 77 persons to breathe =77×16m3=1232m3
Radius of the base of the tent =7m
Now,
Volume of the tent=13×πr2h
1232m3=13×227×72×h
h=24m
Height of the tent =24m
Slant height l=r2+h2=72+242=49+576=625=25m
Now,
Curved Surface area=πrl
=227×7×25
=550m
Curved surface area=550m
