A milk tank is in the form of a cylinder whose radius is 1.5 m and length is 7 m. Find the quantity of milk in litres that can be stored in the tank.

It is given that the milk tank is in the form of a cylinder whose radius is 1.5m and length is 7m.

It is clear that Length of milk tank = height of the cylinder

Now,

Radius of the cylinder =1.5 m and height of the cylinder =7 m

We know that the volume of the cylinder =πr2h. Therefore, volume of the milk tank is:

πr2h=227×(1.5)2×7=22×2.25=49.5 m3

We know,

1 m3=1000 liters

So,

49.5 m2=49,500 liters

Hence, 49,500 liters of milk can be stored in the tank.
