(a) Let the number be $x$.

Then, $\left(\begin{array}{c}x-\frac{25}{100}x\end{array}\right)=225$

$\Rightarrow \frac{75x}{100}=225$.
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{225\times 100}{75}=300$.
Let the number $300$ be increased by $a\%$ to get $375$.

Then, $300+\frac{a}{100}\times 300=375$
$\Rightarrow =3a=375-300=75$

$\Rightarrow a=25\%$
