A person bought a shirt at a certain price and paid the same price for the trouser. If the trouser had cost rupees twenty less and the shirt Rs.15 more, the price of the trouser would have only half that of the shirt. Find the cost of shirt.

Let the price of the shirt and trouser be Rs. x.
As per the statement, " If the trouser had cost rupees twenty less and the shirt Rs. 15 more, the price of the trouser would have only half that of the shirt " => x20=x+152
=>2x40=x+15
x=55
Cost of the shirt =Rs55.
