Question

A sphere and a cube are of the same height. The ratio of their volume is
  1. 3:4
  2. 21:11
  3. 4:3
  4. 11:21

A
3:4
B
21:11
C
4:3
D
11:21
Solution
Verified by Toppr

The sphere will have the diameter equal to the side of the cube as they are of the same height.

If the length of the side of the cube is a, then the
diameter of the sphere =a unit

Radius of the sphere =a2

Volume of a sphere of radius 'r' =43πr3

Hence, volume of this sphere =43×π×(a2)3=πa36

Volume of a cube of edge a =a3

Ratio of their volumes

=πa36:a3

=π6:1

=227×6:1

=117×3:1

=11:21
