The length of room$$=5.5$$ m and width of the room$$=4$$ m

The length of the room with verandah$$=5.5+2.25+2.25=10$$ m

The width of the room with verandah$$=4+2.25+2.25=8.5$$ m

Area of verandah$$=$$Area of the room with verandah$$-$$Area of the room without a verandah

$$=$$ Area of ABCD$$-$$Area of EFGH

$$=(AB\times AD)-(EF\times EH)$$

$$=(10\times 8.5)-(5.5\times 4)\\$$

$$=85-22\\$$

$$=63m^2$$

The cost of cementing $$1m^2$$ the floor of verandah $$=$$Rs. $$200$$

The cost of cementing $$63 m^2$$ the floor of verandah$$=200\times 63=$$Rs. $$12,600$$.
