Question

ABCD is a parallelogram of area 162cm2. P is a point on AB such that AP:PB=1:2. Calculate the area of ΔAPD

  1. 20cm2
  2. 27 cm2
  3. 24 cm2
  4. 25 cm2

A
25 cm2
B
20cm2
C
27 cm2
D
24 cm2
Solution
Verified by Toppr

If DB is the diagonal,
Area of parallelogram 12ABCD= area ADB= area BDC
Area ADB=12(162)=81
P is mid point of AB in the ratio 1:2 (13+23)
Area APD =13× Area of ADB=13(81)=27 sq. cm
