Solution

Air contains a majority of dust particles. While inhaling air, we also inhale dust particles. These particles get stuck or trapped in the hair present along the passage of nostrils and nasal chamber and hence do not reach into lungs. However, suspended particles of size PM 2.5 and less are considered harmful as these are so fine that they cannot be entrapped by the hair.
