Question

An electromagnetic radiation has an energy of 13.2 KeV. Then the radiation belongs to the region of
  1. Ultraviolet light
  2. Visible light
  3. Infrared
  4. X-ray

A
X-ray
B
Visible light
C
Ultraviolet light
D
Infrared
Solution
Verified by Toppr

As we already know that Energy of electromagnetic radiation depends upon the frequency of radiation.
Energy of a photon of EM radiation with frequency is E=hν
Frequency and wave length are related by λν=c
E=hν=hcλ
λ=hcE

=1240evnm13.2kev

=1240evnm13.2×1000ev

=124013200=0.093 nm

=0.093 nm

As Xray wavelength is in the Range of 0.01 nm to 1 nm.

Hence answer is X-rays.
