When aeroplane moves through air, its motion is opposed by the air friction, which depends upon the shape of the body of aeroplane. Hence, the planes are given stream lined shape so that air friction is minimum. The movement of air on the upper and lower side of the streamlined shaped body provides a lift.

Hence, both the assertion and the reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation of the Assertion.
