Question

At what time, between 10 o'clock and 11 o'clock are two hands of clock symmetric with respect to the vertical line (give the answer to the nearest second)?
  1. 10 hr 9 min 13 sec
  2. 10 h 9 min 14 sec
  3. 10 h 9 min 22 sec
  4. 10 h 9 min 50 sec

A
10 h 9 min 50 sec
B
10 h 9 min 14 sec
C
10 h 9 min 22 sec
D
10 hr 9 min 13 sec
Solution
Verified by Toppr

In the case of a vertical line, the time between 10 O'clock and 11 O'clock gives symmetrical for in near about 10:09 min. to 10:10 min. If the second hand rotate about 360°, it gives the 60s. = 1 min. So, from 10 to 11 the second-hand takes about 84° to give the symmetric from with replacing to the vertical line. So, the time is 10 hr 9 min. 84°6sec. which is equal to 10 hr 9 min. 14 sec.
