Solution
Verified by Toppr
$$CH_3COOH\overset{NaOH}{\rightarrow}CH_3COONa (A)\overset{NaOH/CaO}{\rightarrow}CH_4 (B)\overset{Br_2/hv}{\rightarrow}CH_3Br(C)$$
$$CH_3COOH$$ is an acid. So, it reacts with a base $$NaOH$$ to produce a salt ($$CH_3COONa (A)$$)and water.
($$CH_3COONa (A)$$) reacts with $$NaOH$$ in the presence of $$CaO$$ to produce $$CH_4 (B).$$
Methane
$$CH_4 (B)$$ when reacts with $$Br_2$$ in presence of UV light produces bromomethane $$(CH_3Br)$$.
