Question

Consider a circle of radius R. A point charge lies at a distance a from its center and on its axis such that R=a3. If electric flux passing through the circle is ϕ, find the magnitude of the point charge.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given radius =R
also, R=a3,
So, flux through a sphere of radius R is given by, ϕ1=Qincε0
By on area of 4πR2, ϕ1=Qε0
But by or area of πr2, ϕ=Q4ε0
flux through the area of circle given by ϕ=Qinc4ε0
Qinc=ϕ4ε0

Option (D) is the correct answer.
