Question

Construct a parallelogram ABCD with,
Diagonals AC = 7.2 cm, BD= 5.6 cm ,side BC=4 cm.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Step 1: Draw a line AC=7.2cm.
Step 2: Construct the perpendicular bisector of AC. Let the midpoint of AC be O.
Step 3: From the point O take arcs of length half of BD, i.e. 2.8cm on both sides of line AC.
Step 4: From the points A and C, draw arcs of length of 4cm to intersect the arcs constructed in the previous step. The points of intersection of arcs is B and D respectively.
Step 5: Join A to B, B to C, C to D and D to A.
The figure formed is parallelogram ABCD.
