Injective function or injection of a function is also known as one one function and is defined as a function in which each element has one and only one image. This every element is associated with atmost one element.

$$f:N\rightarrow N:f(x)=2x$$ is an injective function, as

$$f(x_1)=f(x_2)\Rightarrow 2x_1=2x_2\Rightarrow x_1=x_2$$.
