Gametophyte and sporophyte

Solution
Verified by Toppr

The gametophyte is a haploid generation, whereas the sporophyte is a diploid generation. The gametophyte (haploid) generation undergoes sexual reproduction to produce gametes. The gametes fuse to form a diploid zygote which grows into the next generation, the sporophyte, which is a diploid generation and produces asexual spores.
