Distinguish between a real and a virtual image of an object. What type of image is formed
(i) by a plane mirror, (ii) on a cinema screen ?
A real image is formed by the actual intersection of light rays whereas a virtual image is formed by the imaginary intersection of light rays.
(i) In plane mirror the image is formed due to virtual intersection of the light rays behind the mirror.
(ii) On a cinema screen, real image is formed due to actual intersection on the cinema screen.
