The function of most transmitter is radio communication of information over a distance. In an amplitude modulation (AM) transmitter, the information is added to the radio signal by varying its amplitude. In frequency modulation (FM) transmitter, it is added by varying the radio signal's frequency slightly. The transmitter performed the modulation of audio signal and radiate the same in the form of electromagnetic wave.
The communication channel provides a pathway between transmitter's output and receiver's input.
The function of receiver is to process the received signal to recover the appropriate message signal.
