The eastern coastal plain lies between the Eastern Ghats and the Bay of Bengal. It stretches from the delta region of West Bengal to Kanyakumari. This plain is divided into two parts named as Northern Circars and Coromandal coast. The Northern Circar lies between Mahanadi and Krishna rivers is known as Northern Circar. It lies in states of Orissa and Coastal Andhra region of Andhra Pradesh.
The second part of the eastern coastal plain called as Coromandal Coast lies between Krishna and Kaveri region. It lies in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu.
