Question

Equal lengths of magnesium ribbons are taken in two test-tubes X and Y. Hydrochloric acid is added to test-tube X and acetic acid is added to test-tube Y.
In which test-tube, the reaction will be more vigorous ? Why ?

Solution
Verified by Toppr

HCl is a strong acid whereas CH3COOH is a weak acid. Strong acid dissociates completely to form H+ ions. Hence, HCl will react more vigorously.
