Question

Evaluate :
$$ \dfrac{7}{26} + 2 + \dfrac{-11}{13} $$

Solution
Verified by Toppr

$$ \dfrac{7}{26} + 2 + \dfrac{-11}{13} $$
It can be written as
$$ = \dfrac{7}{26} + \dfrac{2}{1} + \dfrac{-11}{13} $$
Here LCM of $$26$$ and $$13$$ is $$26$$
So we get
$$ = \dfrac{7 \times 1}{26 \times 1} + \dfrac{2 \times 26}{1 \times 26} - \dfrac{11 \times 2}{13 \times 2} $$
By further calculation
$$ = \dfrac{7 + 52 - 22}{26} $$
So we get
$$ = \dfrac{59 - 22}{26} $$
$$ = \dfrac{37}{26} $$
$$ = 1 \dfrac{11}{26} $$
