Question

Expand the following, using suitable identities: $$(xy + yz)^{2}$$

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Using the identity $$(a+b)^{2}=a^{2}+b^{2}+2ab$$
We have, $$(xy + yz)^{2} =(xy)^2+(yz)^2+2(xy)(yz)$$
$$= x^{2}y^{2}+y^{2}z^{2}+2xy^{2}z$$
