Question

Explain why the blue color remains blue during electrolysis of CuSO4 solution using copper electrodes?

Solution
Verified by Toppr

During the electrolysis of copper sulfate solution, it splits into copper ions and sulfate ions. If copper electrodes are dipped copper ions move to the cathode while sulfate ions move to anode and become a radical. So it attacks copper cathode and forms copper sulfate in the solution itself.
