Earth's magnetic field lines are directed from geographical South to geographical north. Outside bar magnet, magnetic field lines of magnet are directed from Magnetic North to Magnetic South.
When both lines are opposite, we get a neutral point. Since, the neutral point is along the axis of bar magnet, the only possibility is that North Pole of bar magnet faces geographical south.
