Question

Find area of parallelogram ABCD if AB=8 cm,BC=4 cm and distance between the two parallel lines AB and CD is 3 cm. Find the distance between AD and BC.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given, AB=8cm;BC=4cm

Perpendicular distance between AB and BC is DL=3cm

The area of the parallelogram =base×height
=AB×DL

=8×3=24cm2

Area of the parallelogram =base×height

=AD×BM
24=4×height

Height=6cm

So the perpendicular distance between AD and BC is 6cm
