Question

Find the derivative of the following functions form first principle:
(x)1

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Let f(x)=(x)1=1x
Thus using first principle
f(x)=limx0f(x+h)f(x)h
= limx01h[1x+h(1x)]
= limx01h[1x+h+1x]
=limx01h[x+(x+h)x(x+h)]
=limh01h[x+x+hx(x+h)]
=limx01h[hx(x+h)]
=limx01x(x+h)=1x2
