Thus distance between them is given by,

(ii)The given parallel lines are l(x+y)+p=0 and l(x+y)r=0.
Here A=l,B=l,C1=p, and C2=r
Therefore, the distance between these parallel lines is
d=|C1C2|A2+B2=|p+r|l2+l2units=|p+r|2l2units=|p+r|l2units=12p+rlunits
