Question

Find the ratio between TSA of a cylinder to CSA given that its height and radius are 7.5 and 3.5 cm.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given radius of the cylinder(r)=3.5 cm
height of the cylinder(h)=7.5 cm

curved surface area(CSA)=2πrh=2π×3.5×7.5=52.5πcm

total surface area(TSA)=2πrh+2πr2=2π×3.5×7.5+2π×3.52=52.5π+24.5π=77πcm
Ratio=TSACSA=77π52.5π=1.47
