Question

Find the total surface area of a cylinder if the radius of its base is $$5$$ cm and height is $$40$$ cm.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Radius of the cylinder, $$r = 5$$ cm
Height of the cylinder, $$h = 40$$ cm
∴ Total surface area of cylinder, $$S = [2 π r\left( r + h \right) = 2 \times 3 . 14 \times 5 \times \left( 5 + 40 \right) = 2 \times 3 . 14 \times 5 \times 45] = 1413\,cm^2$$

Thus, the total surface area of cylinder is $$1413\,cm^2$$.
