Question

Find three rational numbers equivalent to $$ \dfrac{8}{-15} $$

Solution
Verified by Toppr

The given rational number is $$ \dfrac{8}{-15} $$
Now,
$$ \dfrac{8}{-15} = \dfrac{8 \times 2}{-15 \times 2} = \dfrac{16}{-30} $$
$$ \dfrac{8}{-15} = \dfrac{8 \times 3}{-15 \times 3} = \dfrac{24}{-45} $$
$$ \dfrac{8}{-15} = \dfrac{8 \times 4}{-15 \times 4} = \dfrac{32}{-60} $$

Therefore , $$ \dfrac{16}{-30} , \dfrac{24}{-45} $$ and $$ \dfrac{32}{-60} $$ are the rational numbers which are equivalent to the given rational number $$ \dfrac{8}{-15} $$.
