Find $$x$$ , such that :
$$ \dfrac{7}{-4} = \dfrac{x}{8} $$
Open in App
Solution
Verified by Toppr
$$ \dfrac{7}{-4} = \dfrac{x}{8} $$
By cross multiplication
$$ 7 \times 8 = -4 \times x $$
On further calculation
$$ 56 = -4x $$
So we get
$$ x = \dfrac{56}{-4} = -14 $$
Hence, $$ \dfrac{7}{-4} = \dfrac{-14}{8} $$.
